Federal Way Community Center Opens as Emergency Charging Station After Recent Windstorms

Power Has Been Restored in Federal Way as of 11/23/2024
We’re glad to share that power has been restored to Federal Way. As a result, the Federal Way Community Center (FWCC) is no longer serving as an emergency charging station.

For ongoing updates and resources, please contact the center at (253) 835-6900.

Following the severe windstorms and bomb cyclone that left many Federal Way residents without power, the Federal Way Community Center (FWCC) is stepping up to help. Beginning immediately, FWCC will serve as an emergency charging station, offering a safe and reliable location for residents to charge their electronic devices.

“We know how critical it is for people to stay connected during power outages,” said Mayor Jim Ferrell. “We’re here to provide a space where the community can recharge – both their devices and their peace of mind.”

Residents are welcome to visit the Community Center during regular hours of operation to access charging outlets. In addition to charging devices, visitors can enjoy a warm and welcoming environment as they navigate this challenging time. The community area is open for people to charge items. However, other amenities, such as the pool, gymnasium, and fitness area, will require an FWCC membership or the purchase of a day pass and are not free.
