We are gearing up for our action-packed FULL DAY Summer Camp! Our camp program is safe, inclusive, engaging and fun. Each week has a different theme with daily mini themes; kids will participate in a variety of activities – including rock climbing, swimming and field trips (if safe) – and make lasting friendships with other participants! Creating a safe environment for our kids and staff to remain healthy is our utmost concern and priority. CDC guidelines and Department of Health guidelines are constantly changing. We will update our precautions as we receive more information.
In compliance with current CDC guidelines for Child Care Programs, below are precautions we will be taking to ensure the safety of campers and staff:

DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP

  • We have developed a system for dropping off and picking up children that keeps families physically distant from each other and reduces their need to enter the program space. Campers will be dropped off via the carpool lane from 7am–9am and picked up at the same location 3:30pm–5:30pm
  •  A camp staff member will greet families at their vehicle to implement temperature and symptom screening upon arrival for each camper.
    •  Does your child have any of the following symptoms within the last day that are not caused by another condition? (If it is the first day after a break or a new child, the question will be for the past 3 days).
       Fever
       Cough
 Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
       Unusual fatigue
       Muscle or body aches
       Headache
 Recent loss of taste or smell
       Sore Throat
       Congestion or runny nose
       Nausea or vomiting
       Diarrhea
    •  Within the past 14 days, has your child been in close contact with anyone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 or COVID-like symptoms? Close contact is being within 6ft of a person for 15 minutes or more over a 24hr period.
    •  Has your child had a positive COVID-19 test for active virus in the past 10 days, or is your child awaiting results of a COVID-19 test?
    •  Within the past 14 days, has a public health or medical professional told your child to self-monitor, self-isolate, or self-quarantine because of concerns about COVID-19 infection?

REDUCING TRANSMISSION

  •  Group size: no more than 20 children – 1 staff member per 10 children. Total number of people in a group 22.
    •  For any school aged program with groups of more than 15 children, we will form two subgroups within a shared space.
  •  At this time, field trips will not be offered. Per CDC guidance, activities and events such as field trips and special performances should be avoided.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING

  •  Practice physical distancing of at least 6ft between people within a group as much as possible.
  •  Plan activities that do not need close physical contact. Youth activities (in Phase 2) will be conducted in no more than groups of 5. For example, a group of 20 children will be split into smaller groups of 5 anytime they are doing sport related activities within the shared space.
  •  Increase fresh air as much as possible. Use the ventilation system and open windows/doors where safe.
  • Swimming will be offered throughout the week (if/when FWCC is open)

HYGENE PRACTICES

  • Promote healthy hygiene practices:
    • teach and reinforce washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
    • washing or sanitizing hands when entering/leaving program spaces
    • promote everyday protective measures and cloth face coverings
