Ballerina Dream Camp
Ballerina Dreams Dance Camp invites young dancers to explore the enchanting world of ballet through imagination, creative movement, and beginner-friendly technique.

YOUTH DANCE & GYMNASTICS
Let’s Dance! Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a beginner eager to discover the joy of movement, our classes provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all ages and skill levels. It’s important to note that not every class season includes a dance recital, and some classes may have prerequisite requirements. Additionally, please be aware that class times and dates are tentative, contingent on enrollment.

Our Pre-Ballet & Tap and Beginner Ballet classes offer a variety of options to introduce young dancers to the world of ballet or to help them continue developing their technique. Students will learn the basics of ballet, including posture, body alignment, and coordination. Pre-Ballet classes focus on fundamental movements, balance, and rhythm, while Ballet classes build on these skills, refining technique and introducing more advanced positions and steps. These classes encourage creativity, flexibility, and strength in a fun and structured environment.
Classes available for ages 3 – 8.
These classes are designed for students of all genders, with multiple session options available to suit a variety of age groups and skill levels. Everyone is welcome to explore their passion for dance in a supportive, inclusive environment.
In our Beginner Tap and Pre-Ballet & Tap class, students will explore rhythm and musicality through tap dance. They’ll learn basic tap steps, rhythms, and combinations while improving coordination and timing. Tap dance fosters creativity and expression, helping students develop a strong sense of rhythm and footwork while having fun with every step.
Classes available for ages 5 – 8.
These classes are designed for students of all genders, with multiple session options available to suit a variety of age groups and skill levels. Everyone is welcome to explore their passion for dance in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Our Jazz classes, available for a wide range of ages and skill levels, are perfect for students of all genders looking to explore this dynamic dance style – Great for beginners and for those continuing their skills. Students will learn fun choreography while improving their control, rhythm, and performance skills. With multiple session options, there’s a place for every dancer to grow, express themselves, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
Classes available for ages 5 – 16.
These classes are designed for students of all genders, with multiple session options available to suit a variety of age groups and skill levels. Everyone is welcome to explore their passion for dance in a supportive, inclusive environment.
This high-energy class teaches students the latest hip hop moves while developing rhythm, coordination, and flexibility. Dancers will learn foundational techniques such as popping, locking, and breaking in a fun, upbeat environment. Hip hop is all about self-expression and teamwork, making it an exciting way for kids to move, groove, and build confidence. Let’s Dance!

These classes are designed for students of all genders, with multiple session options available to suit a variety of age groups and skill levels. Everyone is welcome to explore their passion for dance in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Lyrical dance combines elements of ballet and jazz to create expressive, flowing movements that tell a story. Students will explore emotional expression through dance, focusing on grace, flexibility, and musicality. Lyrical dance encourages dancers to connect deeply with the music, enhancing their ability to communicate emotions through movement while improving strength and extension.
Classes available for ages 7 – 12.
These classes are designed for students of all genders, with multiple session options available to suit a variety of age groups and skill levels. Everyone is welcome to explore their passion for dance in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Dance Team combines cheerleading and hip hop, teaching students both cheer techniques and high-energy dance routines. Participants will learn jumps, kicks, stunts, and tricks, as well as how to perform engaging hip hop routines. This class emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence, offering an exciting outlet for kids who love to perform and be active.
Classes available for ages 6 – 12.

GYMNASTICS WITH ASCEND GYMNASTICS!
Federal Way Parks and Recreation is excited to be partnering with Ascend Gymnastics in Auburn to offer new youth gymnastics classes! These fun and engaging programs are designed for kids ages 1 to 13. Whether your little one is just starting out or looking to develop their skills, we have the perfect class for them!
Class Attire: Shorts/leggings/sweat pants and a t-shirt or a leotard. No bare midrifts. Hair pulled back in a ponytail.

All Classes are held at Ascend Gymnastics in Auburn unless otherwise noted.

TINY STARS (Ages 1-3) – boys & girls
This parent/tot class is an intro to gymnastics. Children work fine, gross motor skills with lots of parental hands-on assistance. Curriculum includes bouncing, swinging, rolling, and balancing. The initial focus is on having fun with exercise and developing confidence, while making friends and following basic instructions. Located at Ascend Gymnastics at 1604 15th St. SW Suite 106 in Auburn.
Suitable for Boys & Girls Ages 1 – 3.

MINI STARS (Age 4) – boys & girls
This class continues to work on equipment specifically designed to develop fine and gross motor skills, strength, and beginning tumbling skills. Children will also learn valuable social skills like following directions given by instructors and taking turns with peers. Located at Ascend Gymnastics at 1604 15th St. SW Suite 106 in Auburn.
Suitable for Boys & Girls Age 4.

MIGHTY STARS (Ages 5-6) – girls
Mighty Stars are trained to master beginning tumbling skills while building self esteem and self confidence. The class will continue to enhance the child’s flexibility, coordination, and strength while continuing to learn valuable social skills like following directions given by the instructors and taking turns with peers. Located at Ascend Gymnastics at 1604 15th St. SW Suite 106 in Auburn.
Suitable for Girls Ages 5-6.

GIRLS BEGINNER (Ages 7-12)
Gymnasts will learn basic skills and concepts on all events (vault, bars, beam, floor). These classes are designed to give the gymnast a solid foundation of strength and body awareness. Gymnasts will be evaluated every other session on skills required to move up. Located at Ascend Gymnastics at 1604 15th St. SW Suite 106 in Auburn.
Suitable for Girls Ages 7-12.

NEW! Ninja Classes
Ninja classes are designed to teach your child and help them develop the skills they would need to complete obstacle courses on the floor and on the hanging rack. They combine skills inspired by gymnastics and parkour. Your child will increase their strength, endurance, flexibility, balance, agility and confidence.

ACTING & THEATRE
Watch your child shine as they step into the exciting world of theatre! In partnership with Rosebud Children’s & Community Theatre Conservatory, our programs offer incredible opportunities to explore the stage, from mastering acting techniques and energizing their voice with engaging vocal exercises to perfecting dance routines and learning the language of theatre.
Rosebud Acting Class
Have fun developing your acting skills while creating characters using movement, voice, and creativity. We’ll use theatre games, improvisation, group scenes, and more to develop the skills all actors need for their training as well as interpersonal skills needed for success in everyday life.
Rosebud Musical Theatre
Calling all Broadway Babies! Who wants to be a “Triple Threat”? We’ll work on developing your physicality, vocal projection & articulation, and dance in this musical theatre class. Have fun singing & dancing to your favorite musical theatre numbers from popular Broadway musicals.
Arts & Creative Expression
Watercolor Wednesdays
Adults Only. Wednesdays, 1-3PM. You will choose your subject matter from your own photos or ones supplied in class. You may include places as well as objects and/or people. Classes are held on Wednesdays at Federal Way Community Center.
MUSIC LESSONS & WORKSHOPS

Guitar
Take a 40-minute private lesson with our talented instructor, Josh Kain! Perfect for beginners ready to strum their first chords or seasoned players aiming to refine their techniques, these lessons offer a supportive and welcoming space for learners of all ages and skill levels.
Piano
Discover the joy of playing the piano, express your emotions through music, and experience the satisfaction of mastering this timeless instrument. Open to beginners and advanced players, kids, and adults alike. Students under 18 must have an adult present. Private lessons are 30 minutes.
